Living With Faeries: A Journal | Day One

It is a bright autumn evening. The sun is just setting, and I can hear the leaves rustling in the trees outside. Myself and three others have been chosen to become faeries for a study on the mysteries of faerie society and culture. I am waiting with the others in the Wizard’s study for the transformation process to begin. I am quite excited; I have heard legends and tales of faeries, but have never encountered them myself.

My… Teammates, I suppose, are two close friends and one stranger. My friends’ names are Adrian and Peter. We have known each other for almost twenty years, and have all shared an interest in faeries just as long.
The stranger’s name is Travis, and we have all learned in our short time together that Travis is not a very social man. He sits in the corner broodingly, staring blankly at the stone tiles at our feet. Adrian tried twice to include the man in our conversations, but Travis stubbornly refuses to socialize... Grunts and one-word replies were all that we could get out of him. But if that is his temperament, so be it.
I hear the wizard approaching. It is time for the transformation to begin. I must take my leave.

Wish me luck.
